Composed of the Elizabeth Islands between Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound, 5 mi NW of Martha's Vineyard; Dukes County
History
Named for the English Explorer Bartholomew Gosnold, who landed on one ot the towns twelve islands in 1602 . Settled in 1641 and incorported in 1864 (MA-T1).
