Description
Located 12 mi W of Taunton; Bristol County (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1636 and incorporated as a town in 1812. Derived from the Indian words 'seski' (black) and 'Honk' (goose) and applied by them to the wild geese which frequented the shores and lakes (MA-T1).
