Located 12 mi NW of New Bedford; Bristol County (US-T121).
History
Settled 1656 and incorporated as a town in 1803; as a city in 1854. Name derived from Indian 'Quequeteant', meaning 'the place of falling water'. Name changed to Troy from 1804 to 1854 (MA-T1).
