History
Named by Edward Hitchcock in 1839 for Edward Everett(1794-1865), American statesman, U.S. Representative from 1825 to 1835, Governor of MA from 1836 to 1839, Minister to England from 1841 to 1845, President of Harvard from 1846 to 1849 and U.S. Senator in 1854. Mount Everett is the geological type area Everett Formation of Cambrian age (US-T121).
