Description
Heads at Great Herring Pond, flowed S and SW to Buzzard Bay 2 mi E of Onset and 1 mi N of former stream now flooded by Cape Cod Canal (BGN files); therefore Board on Geographic Names (BGN) 1892 decision vacated June 9, 1962.
History
The Cape Cod Canal. A sea-level canal completed in 1914, was dug along the bed of the Monument River which formerly emptied into Buzzards Bay (MA-T49).
