Located off the southern coast of Cape Cod in Nantucket Sound.
History
The islands in the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge were created when severe storms separated Monomoy Point from the mainland in the winter of 1958. More storms cut through the "new" island and created North Monomoy Island and South Monomoy Island.
