Description
Located on Cape Cod, 20 mi NE of Barnstable (US-T121).
History
Called Nauset after the name of the local Indian tribe, a branch of Algonquins. Renamed Eastham in 1651 either for Eastham, England, or because of its extreme eastern situation in the county. Settled in 1664 and incorporated in 1664 (MA-T1/p17).
