Description
Located on Cape Cod, 12 mi SW of Barnstable County (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1660 and incorporated in 1870. Retains Indian name, meaning 'standing water' or 'great pond'. Before 1870, it was known as the District of Marshpee (US-T1).
