Located on Cape Cod, 18 mi E of Barnstable; Barnstable County (US-T121)
History
Settled in 1665 and incorporated in 1712. Probably named for the Earl of Chatham, although Chatham, England, may have been the home of some of the first settlers. Before 1712 it was the district of Manamoit (MA-T1/p13)
