Description
Located between the Gunpowder and Bush Rivers, 29 km (18 mi) east northeast of downtown Baltimore.
History
One theory for the origin of this name suggests that a mill which operated in the area before the Revolutionary War made gunpowder. Another theory suggests that the name came from an early settler who gave the Indians some gunpowder. (US-T121)
