Description
Highest elevation in MD at 3360 feet. A small summit on Backbone Mountain just east of the MD-WV border.
History
Named in 1952 for Charles Edward Hoye (1876-1951), the great-great-grandson of one of the first permanent settlers in the area. Captain Hoye was the founder of the Garrett County Historical Society.
