Description
Located along the east side of the Chesapeake Bay on Back River Neck, at the east end of the community of Holly Beach, 19.3 km (12 mi) east of downtown Baltimore.
History
Likely named for the type of gannet (bird), known as a "booby", which prefers habitats similar to those found in the Chesapeake Bay area. (US-T121)
