Description
Located at the mouth of the Severn River where the feature enters the Chesapeake Bay, just south southeast of Eastport, 3.2 km (2 mi) southeast of downtown Annapolis.
History
A definitive name origin is unknown but it is believed the word "chinks" is derived from the native term "chinqua" and translates to "large" or "great". (US-T121)
