Feeds into an unnamed sttream and then into the Meduxnekeag River, in Monticello Township, 3.2 km (2 mi) SE of Monticello.
History
Named for the Gentle family, early settlers and owners of the property; a proposal to change the name Gentle Lake to Theresas Lake was submitted in September 1993; the proposal was rejected by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN) due to local opposition to the name change.
