Description
Located in southern Kentucky along the boundary with Tennessee, just southwest of Bowling Green and 80 km (50 mi) south-southeast of Hopkinsville; County Seat: Franklin.
History
Established in 1819, named for Captain John Simpson, a Kentucky politician who died in the Battle of River Raisin in 1813. (KY-T1/p272)
