Description
Located in east-central Kentucky, 48 km (30 mi) east of Lexington; County Seat: Mount Sterling.
History
Established in 1797, named for Richard Montgomery (1738-1775), a Revolutionary War General who was killed in the Battle of Quebec. (KY-T1/p201)
