Located in east-central Kentucky, 80 km (50 mi) southeast of Lexington; County Seat: Frenchburg.
History
Established in 1869, named for Richard Hickman Menefee (sic) (1809-1841), who served in the Kentucky Legislature and later the US Congress. (KY-T1/p194)
