Description
Located in north-central Kentucky along the Ohio River adn the boundary with Indiana and 48 km (30 mi) southwest of Louisville; County Seat: Brandenburg.
History
Established in 1823, named for Captain James Meade (died 1813) who was killed in the Battle of River Basin. (KY-T1/p194)
