Description
Located in northeastern Kentucky along the Ohio River and the boundary with Ohio, 80 km (50 mi) northeast Lexington; County Seat: Maysville.
History
Established in 1788 and formed when Kentucky was part of Virginia. Named for George Mason (1725-1792) who composed the Declaration of Independence. (KY-T1/p190)
