Located in central Kentucky, about 64 km (40 mi) south-southwest of Lexington; County Seat: Stanford.
History
Established in 1780, named for Benjamin Lincoln (1733-1810), of Massachusetts who served as General in the Revolutionary War and later served as Secretary of War for the Continental Congress from 1781 to 1784. (KY-T1/p173)
