Description
Located in southwestern Kentucky along the boundary with Tennessee, about 97 kkm (60 mi) west-southwest of Hopkinsville; County Seat: Mayfield.
History
Established in 1823, named for Major Benjamin Franklin Graves (1771-1813), who was killed on 22 January 1813 in the Battle of River Basin. (KY-T1/p123)
