Description
Located in northern Kentucky along the Ohio River and the boundary with Indiana, about 48 km (30 mi) north-northwest of Frankfort; County Seat: Carrollton.
History
Established in 1838, named for Charles Carroll (1737-1832) of Carrollton,Maryland, and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. (KY-T1/p51)
