Located along the Ohio River and the boundary with Ohio, just southeast of Covington; County Seat: Alexandria.
History
Established in 1794, named for Irishman Colonel John Campbell, a Kentucky statesman who served in the Revolutionary War and was one of Jefferson County's first settlers. (KY-T1/p47)
