Description

Located in central Kentucky, along the Ohio River and teh boundary with Indiana, about 80 km (50 mi) southwest of Lexington; County Seat: Hardinsburg.

History

Established in 1799, named for John Breckinridge (1760-1806), a Legislator who served as Kentucky's Attorney General, and later as US Senator and US Attorney General. (KY-T1/p35)
