Description
Located in north central Kentucky, about 24 km (15 mi) northeast of Lexington; County Seat: Paris.
History
Established in 1786 and is one of the nine counties created when Kentucky was part of Virginia. Named for the French royal family in appreciation for their assistance during the Revolutionary War. (KY-T1/p32)
