Description
Located in south central Kentucky, about 40 km (25 mi) east of Bowling Green; County Seat: Glasgow.
History
Established in 1798, descriptively named by pioneer explorers because of the infertile look of the land. It is believed that Indians occasionally cleared the land to make buffalo hunting easier. (KY-T1/p15)
