Description
Located in south-central Kentucky along the boundary with Tennessee, 32 km (20 mi) southeast of Bowling Green; County Seat: Scottsville.
History
Established in 1815, named for Leiutenent Colonel John Allen (1771-1813) who served in the Kentucky State Legislature and was killed in the Battle of River Basin. (KY-T1/p4)
