Description
Located in south-central Kentucky, 113 km (70 mi) southwest of Lexington; County Seat: Columbia.
History
Established in 1810; named for General John Adair (1757-1840), who served in the Battle of New Orleans in 1815 and later became the 8th Governor of Kentucky (1820-24). (KY-T1/p1)
