Description
Located along the Wapsipinicon River, 14.5 km (9 mi) southeast of Independence.
History
Settled around 1840 after 250,000 acres were ceded to the US Government in a treaty signted in 1837. "Quasqueton" is a corruption of "Quasquetuck" meaning "swift running waters." (US-T131/1967/History of Quasqueton, p2)
