Flows NNW to the Pecatonica River, 2.9 km (2 mi) SE of Shirland and 2.9 km (2 mi) NE of Harrison.
History
Named for Timothy Alan Bates (1963-1986), whose family farm is traversed by this stream; Timothy Bates died in a motorcycle accident in June 1986 at age 22.
