Located approx. 6 mi NNW of Robinson.

History

Originally platted as East Berlin. There was little growth until 1850 when Richard Porter established a blacksmith shop. Both the names, Porterville and Eaton, are used to refer to the community, but Porterville is used more predominantly. The name Eaton appears on hwy road signs and on state and county maps of the area. The Eaton PO was established in 1852 and named after its postmaster, John Eaton. The PO no longer exists.
