Located in secs 28 and 33,T49N,R2E, Boise Meridian. On South Fork Ridge between Bear Creek and South Fork Coeur d'Alene River, 3.2 km (2 mi) NE of Pinehurst and 7.2 km (4.5 mi) NW of Kellogg.
History
Named for John Alexander McLeod (died 1941), who with his two brothers homesteaded here in 1890.
