Description
SE of Oakley in the Sawtooth National Forest. Under its E rim are four glacial lakes called Independence Lakes. The summit is very rough, with cliffs and rock slides.
History
The name Independence Peak was chosen by local residents, settlers from Utah, for Independence, Missouri.
