Description
Located 120 mi northwest of Niihau, in the northwestern part of the Hawaiian Archipelago.
History
The island was rediscovered in March 1789, by Captain William Douglas of the H.M.S. Iphigenia. It was designated a wildlife refuge in 1906; the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service controls access to the island.
