Description
Located in west central Georgia, 77 km (48 mi) west of Macon; County Seat: Talbotton.
History
Created on 14 December 1827 from a portion of Muscogee County. Named for Matthew Talbot (1762-1827), Governor of Georgia who came to the State by way of Virginia. (GA-T21/p223)
