Description
Located in western Georgia, along the Chattahoochee River and the boundary with Alabama; County Seat: Hamilton.
History
Formed from Muscogee and Troup Counties. Created 14 December 1827 and named for Englishman Charles Harris (1772-1827), a prominent lawyer who lived in Savannah. (GA-T21/p103)
