Located in northern Georgia, 58 km (36 mi) north northeast of Atlanta; County Seat: Cumming.

History

Established 3 December 1832; named for John Forsyth (1780-1841), A Virginia native who served as Governor of Georgia from 1827 to 1829 and later as Secretary of State under President Van Buren. (GA-T21/p79)
