Description
Located in northwestern Georgia along the boundary with Alabama, 96 km (60 mi) northwest of Atlanta; County Seat: Rome.
History
Established 3 December 1832, named for General John Floyd (1769-1839) of South Carolina. He served as a soldier and US Congressman. (GA-T21/p78)
