Description
Located in southern Georgia along the boundary with Florida, 192 km (120 mi) southeast of Albany; County Seat: Statenville.
History
Established 13 December 1858, named in honor of General Robert M Echols (?-1846), who served as President of the Georgia State Senate. He died in the Mexican War. (GA-T21/p69)
