Located in northern Georgia, 68 km (42 mi) north northeast of Atlanta; County Seat: Dawsonville.
History
Established 3 December 1857, named in honor of William Crosby Dawson (1798-1857), a Georgia native, lawyer, soldier, and US Senator from 1849 to 1855. (GA-T21)
