History
A proposal to change the name Casaga Lake to Wallden Pond was submitted on 16 November 2005; the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN) rejected the proposal on 11 June 2007, and suggested that the name could be construed to commemorate a living person and as such would be in violation of the Board's Commemorative Naming Policy.
