Description

Located in west central Georgia along the boundary with Alabama; County Seat: Carrollton.

History

Created on 9 June 1825 with boundaries redefined on 15 November 1827. Named for Charles Carroll (1737-1832), a Maryland native who served as a U S Congressman and Senator from Georgia and a was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. (GA-T21/p36)
