History
Created on 14 July 1914 from Bulloch, Emanuel, and Tattnall Counties; named in honor of Allen Daniel Candler (1834-1910), Statesman and Civil War veteran who served as Governor of Georgia from 1898 to 1902. (GA-T21/p35)
