Description
Located in central Georgia, 126 km (78 mi) southeast of Atlanta; County Seat: Macon.
History
Established on 9 December 1822 from Houston, Jones, Monroe, and Twiggs Counties; named in honor of Dr William Wyatt Bibb (1780-1820), who served in the U S House of Representatives and the US Senate. He later served as Alabama's first Governor. (GA-T21/p18)
