History
The name honors Leslie Mitchell Lewis (1890-1967) and his wife Jessie Lorine Wells Lewis (1893-1994), who owned property along the stream; Mr. Lewis was instrumental in establishing mail service for the eastern part of Gadsden County, becoming the area's first mail carrier in 1909.
