Description
Heads at junction of Conecuh River and Little Escambia River and flows southward to Escambia Bay, 7 mi N of Pensacola.
History
Although the name may be derived from the Spanish word 'cambiar,' meaning to exchange or barter, it more likely is from an Indian word of unknown meaning.
