Description
Sanctuary Sound is located at the northwest end of the Big Marco River and southeast of East Marco Bay, two miles east-southeast of Marco (US-T121)
History
so named in 1980 by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary because the sound provides a nesting area or "sanctuary" for sea birds (US-T121)
