Description
Heads in Coos Co. New Hampshire at the Canadian border at Third Connecticut Lake, flows south forming the New Hampshire-Vermont boundary and flows through Massachusetts and Connecticut to Long Island Sound.

The name Connecticut is derived from an Algonkian Indian word meaning "long-(tidal)-river-at" (US-T807)
