In Rio Grande National Forest, in the Sangre de Cristo Range, 5 mi. E of the community of Crestone.
History
A proposal to change the summit's name to Mount Crestone was rejected by the BGN in February 2011, citing opposition from the Colorado Board on Geographic Names, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Colorado Mountain Club.
