Description
In the Elk Mountains, 1.5 mi ENE of Snownass Mountain.
History
Named in honor of John Heckert who lost his life while mountain climbing in the area. USGS topographic maps show an incorrect location for the pass. The pass is located on the Snowmass Mountain quadrangle.
